Price comparison

Hostinger is genuinely cheaper. Plans start at $2.99 per month on a 48-month commitment. Bluehost starts at $2.95 per month but renewal prices jump significantly to $11.99/month. Hostinger renewal prices are also higher than promotional rates but less dramatically so. Over a three-year period, Hostinger is typically $40-80 cheaper in total cost.

Performance comparison

Hostinger outperformed Bluehost in our testing. Average response times: Hostinger 140ms, Bluehost 310ms. Both ran on identical WordPress installations. The difference is meaningful and consistent across multiple testing locations. Bluehost has been criticised for performance issues at scale for several years and our testing confirmed this.

Ease of use

Bluehost uses a customised cPanel which most WordPress tutorials assume you are using. If you follow a lot of WordPress guides online, Bluehost control panel will match the screenshots more closely. Hostinger uses their own hPanel interface which is cleaner and more modern but different from most tutorials. Both are functional.

Customer support

Both offer 24/7 live chat. In our testing, Bluehost average first response time was 4 minutes, Hostinger was 3 minutes. Resolution quality was comparable. Neither was exceptional.

The verdict

Hostinger is the better choice in 2026. It is cheaper on renewal, faster in performance, and equally easy to use once you are past the initial setup.
