How to Cancel 1Password: Individual and Family Plans 2026

1Password subscriptions are managed through your account dashboard. Here is how to cancel an individual plan, family plan, or team subscription.

1Password cancellations are handled through your account portal. The process differs slightly between individual and family plans but both are straightforward.

Cancelling an individual 1Password plan

Go to my.1password.com and sign in. Click your name in the top right then select Manage Account. Go to Billing. Click Cancel Plan. Confirm the cancellation. Your account will continue until the end of your current billing period and you will not be charged again. 1Password does not offer a money-back guarantee, so this is a straightforward cancellation without a refund process.

Cancelling a 1Password Families plan

Only the family organiser can cancel the family subscription. Sign in to my.1password.com as the organiser. Go to Manage then Billing. Click Cancel Plan. When a family plan is cancelled, all family members lose access at the end of the billing period. Make sure to export your vault data before cancelling if you want to keep your passwords.

Cancelling a 1Password Teams or Business plan

Go to your team account at my.1password.com. Click the team name then Administration. Go to Billing and click Cancel Plan. Team admins can export all data before cancellation via Settings then Data then Export.

Exporting your data before cancelling

This is important. Before you cancel, export your vault. In any 1Password app, go to File then Export or use the web interface to download a CSV or 1PUX file. Store this file securely as it contains all your passwords in readable form. Delete it once you have imported it into your new password manager.

Is there a refund?

1Password does not advertise a standard money-back guarantee. However, if you have just been charged and have a genuine reason, contacting support within a few days of billing sometimes results in a goodwill refund. It is worth asking.
