Surfshark One Review 2026: Is the Bundle Actually Worth It?
Surfshark One adds antivirus, breach monitoring, and private search to the base VPN for $1.50 more per month. After using it for 60 days, here is whether the bundle is worth it.
Surfshark One bundles four products into one subscription: the full Surfshark VPN, a real-time antivirus engine, Alert breach monitoring, and Search for private ad-free browsing. At $3.99 per month on a two-year plan it costs $1.50 more than the base VPN. The question is whether those three additions justify the premium.
What Surfshark One adds over the base VPN
The antivirus covers Windows and Android with real-time malware scanning and scheduled scans. In our testing it detected all standard test malware samples and had minimal impact on system performance. It is not as feature-rich as dedicated antivirus tools like Bitdefender or Norton but it is competent and the price is effectively free if you were going to pay for Surfshark VPN anyway.
Alert monitors your email addresses, passwords, credit card numbers, and ID documents against breach databases. When your data appears in a breach, you get a notification immediately. This is the same functionality as services like HaveIBeenPwned but automated and continuous rather than requiring you to check manually.
Search is a private search engine that shows organic results without tracking or ads. It is functional but not our first choice over DuckDuckGo for daily use.
The VPN component
The Surfshark VPN in One is identical to the standalone product. WireGuard protocol, unlimited simultaneous connections, servers in 100 countries, kill switch, split tunneling, and Nexus multi-hop routing. Our speed tests showed consistent performance with no difference from the base plan.
Who should choose Surfshark One
Surfshark One makes the most sense for users who do not already have antivirus software and want to consolidate their security tools into one subscription. If you are currently paying separately for a VPN and antivirus, the bundle almost certainly saves you money. Windows users get the most value since the antivirus covers that platform fully.
Who should stick with the base VPN
If you already use a dedicated antivirus like Malwarebytes or Bitdefender that you are happy with, the extra features in Surfshark One offer limited additional value. Stick with the base VPN at $2.49 per month.
The verdict
Surfshark One is good value for users building their security stack from scratch. The $1.50 monthly premium for antivirus and breach monitoring is competitive compared to buying those services separately. For existing antivirus users, the base Surfshark VPN plan is the better choice.
