Surfshark VPN Review 2026: Unlimited Devices at the Lowest Price
Surfshark is the cheapest mainstream VPN with unlimited simultaneous connections. After 90 days of testing here is the full honest verdict.
Surfshark positions itself as the budget-friendly VPN that does not compromise on features. At $2.49/month on a two-year plan with unlimited simultaneous connections, it has a compelling value proposition. After 90 days of real-world testing, here is whether it delivers.
Price and value
Surfshark is genuinely the cheapest credible VPN available. At $2.49/month on a two-year plan, it undercuts NordVPN by $1.50/month and ExpressVPN by nearly $6/month. Over two years that is $36 and $140 in savings respectively. The unlimited simultaneous connections policy means one subscription covers every device in your household with no limit, which changes the economics significantly for families or anyone with many devices.
Speed performance
Using WireGuard protocol, Surfshark averaged 420 Mbps on UK servers in our testing. This is fast enough for any real-world use case including 4K streaming, video calls, and gaming. It is slightly slower than NordVPN and ExpressVPN in controlled testing but the difference is imperceptible to actual users. On close proximity servers the gap closes further.
The Nexus network is Surfshark unique infrastructure feature. It routes your traffic through multiple servers in their network rather than a direct point-to-point connection. This improves both privacy and IP consistency, as your exit IP address stays more stable across a session than with traditional VPN architectures.
Privacy and no-logs
Surfshark operates under a no-logs policy audited by Cure53 in 2021 and 2023. The audits confirmed no user-identifying data is stored. Surfshark merged with Nord Security in 2022 but operates independently with its own infrastructure and policies. The company is incorporated in the Netherlands, an EU country with GDPR data protection requirements.
All Surfshark servers run on RAM-only infrastructure. The kill switch works correctly, blocking all internet traffic if the VPN connection drops unexpectedly. DNS leak protection is enabled by default. In our DNS and WebRTC leak testing using browserleaks.com, no leaks were detected.
Streaming
Surfshark reliably unblocks Netflix US and UK, Disney+, and BBC iPlayer in our monthly testing. Netflix Japan is less consistent, working around 70% of the time in our tests. Hulu and HBO Max work from US servers. For mainstream streaming in major markets Surfshark is a reliable choice. For comprehensive access to niche regional libraries, NordVPN or ExpressVPN are more consistent.
The Surfshark One bundle
Surfshark One at $3.99/month adds real-time antivirus (Windows and Android), Alert breach monitoring for email and ID documents, and private search. For users who do not already have antivirus software and want to consolidate their security tools, One offers genuine value at a small premium over the base VPN. Surfshark One+ at $6.49/month adds Incogni data broker removal, which automatically contacts 180+ data brokers and requests deletion of your personal information.
Ease of use
The Surfshark app is clean and beginner-friendly. The one-click connect button is prominent, server selection is straightforward, and the settings are well-organised without being overwhelming. The auto-connect feature reliably triggers on untrusted WiFi networks. Apps are available for Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, Linux, and browser extensions.
The verdict
Surfshark is the best VPN for budget-conscious users and households with many devices. The combination of unlimited connections, genuine no-logs auditing, and solid streaming performance at $2.49/month is hard to beat. It is slightly slower than NordVPN and less reliable for niche streaming markets than ExpressVPN, but for the vast majority of users those limitations are irrelevant.
